VMworld 2013 – Time for the big show
With the growing popularity of the vendor conventions in the last few years, it goes without saying that VMware has made their mark on the industry with their products, and the VMworld Conferences that bring the big news to customers, partners and community members each year.
I’m in San Francisco to be a part of the VMworld 2013 – Defy Convention which is being hosted at the Moscone Centre for upwards of 25,000 attendees. For virtualization and IT professionals, this is one of the most prominent conferences that they will attend this year.
We have to start with the reasons that bring us here. VMworld is held at the same general time each year, and this aligns with big changes in the product lines from VMware along many other partners and product vendors.
There will be a lot of heat around cloud infrastructure, and of course the focus on the newly minted vCloud Hybrid Service (vCHS) offering from VMware will be front and center with all of the news coming out this week.
As a blogger, community advocate and cloud proponent, this is going to be a glorious week to be able to witness the public announcements and be a part of this amazing event.
I previously posted my predictions (2013 Predictions in Virtualization and Server Technology) on what we can expect to see this year from VMware, and this week will be fun to see just how accurate those off-the-cuff predictions end up. Some have already come true so I am pretty happy to have been able watch these great new features and products come together.
Exciting changes ahead
Because of a number of really great research projects and product previews I’ve been involved in, I can only say that this will be an exciting conference, an exciting year, and we will see some amazing evolution of VMware products and many other software and hardware products this week.
Make sure that you stay tuned here and I will be bringing all of the news that I can to you through the blog and Twitter (@DiscoPosse). Also, be sure to monitor the #VMworld hashtag on Twitter because it will be alight with amazing news and information.
Find me at VMworld
For attendees who are at the conference, I would love to connect and I encourage you to track me down. Watch my Twitter stream for posts on where I am and I would love to see you tweet out meetups with readers, partners and friends.
I will generally be found in the hang space area so come on down and say hello. Plus you will find many of the amazing bloggers, product gurus and tech community rockstars there so it will be like a one-stop shop of IT awesomeness!
